After his first movie hit, Geetanjali fame director Raj Kiran tried one more horror comedy film with Swathi and Naveen Chandra in lead roles. He tried to repeat the same success formula of Geetanjali in his latest movie Tripura.

Story: Whatever Tripura (Swathi) sees in her dreams comes to  her life.  Her father thinks that she is suffering from mental disorder. Naveen (Naveen Chandra) who is Doctor treats her for disorder. Tripura falls in love with Naveen and they get married. Tripura gets to see people dying in her dreams that eventually turns out to be true. Tripura is terrified when she dreams of  Naveen.

    Plus points:

    • Swathi’s Performance
    • Suspense Point

    Minus Points:

    • Direction
    • Poor Screenplay
    • Music
    • Cinematography

Lead pair Swathi and Naveen Chandra’s performances are impressive. Rao Ramesh has done justice to his character. Saptagiri and Shakalaka Shankar added few laughs to story. Director Raj Kiran’s first film Geetanjali was a mediocre script but in Tripura he made conscious effort to have a strong plot. Inspite of all these Tripura moves at very slow pace and you will lose interest in knowing what has happened on that fateful night. Tripura is for audience’s who are found of Horror comedy movies.
